Just curious what everyones opinion was in their mind for the best form of advertising.  TV, internet, magazine, word of mouth, display at shows, etc.  Seeing that my alternator belt adjusting tool has had a lot of positive response, I am considering the next step which is advertising the product.

Pic of the tool below:

I think you need to understand your market demographics and see what their preferred media is. I usually look for solutions to my wants/needs online and then search out feedback from trusted sources. Whether or not that feedback includes the net is really dependent upon what kind of feedback I get from word of mouth.

Hope you have thought about protecting your IP on that tool now that you have it out in the open. :Twocents:

Word of mouth is best after a product has already been introduced. Can't spread word of mouth if nobody knows about it.
If it's a "Mopar-only" tool then perhaps consider the "New Products" sections in Mopar magazines or on their websites??  :shruggy:

eBay.
Get just the right words in your description so people looking for alternators to tighten, find your alternator tightening tool.

best form of advertising.......

Here is some good advice about "Advertising".  You should NEVER express the benefits or advantages that your product has over the Competition.  Doing so will make you look like you are better than everyone else, arrogant and a jerk.  Your product should always speak for itself.  In essence, you should NOT do any marketing or promotional advertising because that philosophy is actually contrary to letting your product speak for itself.  I guess you should not do anything!  Just spend a small fortune manufacturing it, hope a few people will tell their Friends and then cross your fingers while hoping for success..................NOT!

Now for the truthful facts Brian.   The ridiculous advice I stated above will GUARANTEE that you won't have a product or Company in a few short years.  Failure to educate, contrast and promote your product benefits to the Industry will ensure your demise.  Business is a Battle.  Only the strong survive.  Give it your all in an honest and truthful manner.  Never be deterred in achieving your goals.  You'll have jealous "naysayers" constantly criticizing and trying to bring you down.  Just laugh as you continue to climb the ladder of success.  :2thumbs:

only advise I can give is take out a world wide patent   :yesnod:  and don't get it manufactured in china ,unless you want to see a cheap "knock off" before yours goes on sale  :Twocents:
