Don't 68s normally have seats/consoles that match the carpet?

So do you think someone will step up and fix the mistakes?

Nope.  Do you think they'll correct the ad by taking the R/T part off?

no inner tail panel trim either

I didn't see a price tag on this...did I miss something?

Ghoste

If they think the gold carpet is a selling feature then I'm surprised it doesn't 20 inch RT logos on the doors.

I thought 68's didn't have the trim panel around the lights on the inside?

I'm not sure, I have seen more with than without....it just looks kinda tacky to see them tail light wires there...maybe it's just me

It looks like there is bondo in the trunk floor...it looks pretty lumpy. And the hood was repainted too. Its lighter then the rest of the car. They also fudged the rear valance around. Look how wide the bottom of the valance corners are. They are supposed to taper down to almost a point at the bottom, but these are pretty wide at the bottom....
1968 Charger R/T, matching numbers 440/727, black with green top and interior, currently getting restored by me

Something's up with that left headlight door. Maybe the vacuum pod is stuck and won't retract all the way. :shruggy:

I believe it's $44,900 which is about what you would expect if it were a lot closer to perfect. Not sure what it would cost to repaint the tail panel, radiator core support and the trunk but it wouldn't be cheap. As Troy said, why gold instead of the original red? Lots of other stuff to fix otherwise. Wouldn't be worth it at that price.

Mytur Binsdirti

The seller is Lucky Motors, but judging by that car it's more luke Sucky Motors.  ::)

moparfan53

I noticed it has a '69/70 style heater control.
Ebay ad says; "RESTORED TO ORIGINAL COLOR COMBINATION".  :o

The front end's probably been in a fender bender and that's the unfinished/shoddy repair work showing.

Do tampon strings really hang down like that?

six-tee-nine

look at the left side of the front valence.

I think alot of corners were cut on that restoration. Scares me to think that probably alot of these cut corners are stuffed with tons of bondo.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Ghoste

Well I hope someone can get it at a reasonable price and save it.  It's still a 68 Charger after all.

Dino

68's did not have tail light covers.

This car needs to be stripped down to the last bolt and started over.  Way too much bondo on that thing.

Regarding the grille door, maybe the magnet that holds it up is gone.

I still can't pry my eyes off that glow in the dark floor covering.  If a Charger falls into a bucket of ugly, do you have to put Aztek badges on it?

No. The worst 2nd gen Charger is still 10 times better looking than the best Aztek.

Dino, are you joking with this statement.

Nope, in 68 the vacuum pods had a magnet on the bottom to help keep the doors open.  In 69 they changed this system and the pods no longer had magnets.  When the original pod breaks, the replacement wasn't always the correct one.

I lost the struggle to not criticize others work.

The front of that car is a friggin joke.

Mines not perfect...but could anything else be miss-aligned or bent on the gold car?   Damn.
