At least he's not sitting on it saying 'I'm gonna fix her up one day'

"needs restoration. Car ha been stripped but doors, hood, fenders loosely put back into car. Missing engine, transmission, and grill. This year of charger is the exact year and make as the black charger used in The Fast and Furious. Front floors and trunk floor rusted out. Ends of rear frame rails need work. Would make a great drag car or a profitable restoration. 4,000$ OBO. call or text 812 327 5499"

He has a reddish-orange 2nd-gen Charger with a CB antenna on the trunklid.

Notice that he says nothing about the General Lee, but he describes it as "the exact same model & year as the Fast & Furious Charger."

Don't tell me those F&F movies aren't helping the future of the Charger hobby.

I thought that was a bit ironic too. I actually really enjoy the F&F franchise. I wish they would do something like the gumball rally though, that's a fun flick.

What cars did you like the most?  I liked the '70 Camaro and the Cobra; dream cars for sure...

Only if someone buys it for that reason.

Point is, the seller considered the F&F connection more worthy of mention than the GL connection.

Can you imagine an orange Charger seller doing that 10 years ago?
Downplaying the GL connection and emphasizing the F&F one?

The car in the ad even has a 01 painted on the passenger door.  The seller elected to use the blank orange side of the car for the main picture.

Or, that the casual enthusiast may just see an orange Charger with an 01 on the door and say "Golly look! It's a General Lee!" He might not know the difference between years.
I once heard a radio skit where they were talking about the most popular cars on film. A caller said his favorite was "The GTO they used in F&F". DJ replied "Yep, gotta love those GTO's!"  ::)

I'll agree with this.

Still not a bad price for a project car.

I like the Daytona, Jensen and AAR cuda in the new one. Past ones, the charger, road runner, challenger, Monte Carlo, mustang with skyline engine, and the skylines.

Profitable and restoration are almost mutually exclusive.
