So, got a question about the trunk mat. Are they bolted under the wing braces, or are they cut out around the braces?

Thanks

Slit just to slide around them.

On a Daytona, the braces are bolted right through the mat.  I'll find a couple of photos tomorrow.

Mine was bolted right through the mat on my Daytona.  Rick.

OK, CRS must be setting in with me.   Carry on.

I think they were slit for the Superbirds but not the Daytonas.

I did find a photo of Mark T.'s 11,000 mile F5 Daytona before they did any work in the trunk.

Nobody currently makes a "correct" trunk mat. :Twocents:

An old Motor City Originals mat is probably the best choice if you can find one.

This is Jim B's Boat Tona.   Mat was very neatly cut on both sides at some point in time...

Other side of Boat...

Looks like there is a slice of trunk mat under the wing braces.

Interesting... a schizophrenic Daytona!

Your CRS is only half as bad as you thought   :P

I am suspecting at some point in time, some of these Daytona had owners that needed remove or push to one side or another the trunk floor mat. So, instead of removing the complete wing support assembly, it was easier to just cut along the base and pull it away. Just a guess........  I can't imagine Creative Industries going through the trouble of modifying the mat instead of just drilling a hole through it, placing the support in the trunk and bolting it down................   :shruggy:

While I was out taking pictures today I got one of an unrestored Daytona with the original trunk mat under the wing brace.
