Wife and I are breaking the '70 out of storage and driving from VA down to NC on the BRP. Anyone ever do it before? suggestions?

Should be nice photo opportunity :-)

If the weather's clear, there are great photo ops. Keep in mind there is a low speed limit. Although, if the Park Police are furloughed, this might be the perfect time to run it.

AK,
What part of Va?  I've done that drive quite a bit.  You plan to stay just on the parkway?  There's Natural Bridge Va, just off Parkway near Lexington.  The Peaks of Otter Lodge is a good place to eat.  There's Mabry's Mill near Floyd, Va.  There's "Little Switzerland" just off the Parkway in N.C.  Might want to hit the Parkway web site, but don't know how much of this will be open with the current "shut down."

I would normally suggest driving down Skyline drive but that aint gonna happen!

Thanks for the tips Daddy!

Plan is to get on at Winchester VA, do about 150 miles stop for the night then do another 120 or so and get off around Ashville NC. I'll have to see where those places you mentioned fit in. I know the road is open and stuff NOT on gov't property is open...we weren't planning on going hiking or anything so no big deal for closing the other stuff.

Awesome, I used to live in Va. and traveled it every two weeks or so.

I think it is a beautiful drive but lots of slow speed turns.  We took hours to make the short distance we went (drove up to the VA state line and ended just short of Ashville.   One of those things you just have to do!!!

Just drove it the day before it was shut down. Had a new Charger rental on vacation.  We were supposed to slow for the turns?   :shruggy:
The scenery was amazing!

Outside Charlottesville, I was told to find the Trump Winery!!    Nice place, great food and drink.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?
