Well, my buddy Hoss, the owner of the six pack '71 Challenger R/T I put together over the last 9 months, is having a ton of fun at the "Cruising the Coast" event on the Coast of Mississippi. He texted me this yellow Daytona he saw today........ Do we spy on Trav !!?? Trav, that HAS got to be you....

Cheers,
Troy

Oh wow, cool pic Troy, that was me! Pretty awesome time at Cruisin the coast. I am very shocked by how few people knew it was a daytona. As you drive by you can hear and watch all the people point and make comments. I heard Daytona maybe TWICE the whole week, countless times i heard "superbird", "superbee" or even "roadrunner". BUT the most prominent comment i heard the entire week, a little surprising, was "Joe Dirt!!" Not one fast/furious reference, but every other person remembered Joe Dirt when they saw it

were you sporting a "mullet"??

69charger2002

you must see the passenger side seat behind my head in the pic. I can't even dream of a mullet. I wear the hat so my head doesn't get burned lol. Although i did try one on to see how i would look. Pretty amazing..  :pity:

Yeap Trav, as soon as Hoss saw you, he snapped a picture of your car and sent me a picture via cellphone... Of course he wasn't surprised when I told him, "I know that car and owner !!!"...  :D

Looks and sounds like you guys all had great weather from Sunday/Monday on........

Maybe one day I'll join ya............ Oh, and I hardly ever get "Nice Daytona"....... I get, 90% of the time, "Nice Superbird"............ Oh, Hoss also shared with me the story of her, Cindy his wife, getting flustered at some yahoo's pointing out your car was a clone.... She's like, "It's a hell of a nice car".....  :2thumbs:

I get "Superbird" & "Superbee" all the time as well...even though there is a big billboard sign on the rear quarters

Lol tell her thanks for the kind words. I had a bazillion people come up to me.. "thats one of the few real ones left in the world isn't it??" I clarified to everyone who asked that it was a clone. Nothing to hide and don't want anyone being misled. You do need to come down for the event. There were 3 superbirds running around last week, no daytonas.

I think the reason no one could tell on mine was mainly because I drove a lot at night, and the yellow with white almost hides the lettering "DAYTONA" on the back quarter. Very hard to see. They just assumed it was a regular old Superbird..  :smilielol:
