Is the 68 air cleaner service decal the same as 69 and 70?

And what is the difference between 2bbl and 4bbl, 383 and 440, dual/single/non snorkel? I checked out the Nick's Garage site but there's little info on just the decals. Some vendors list 69 and 70 as being the same but don't even mention 68. But then some Ebay listings and other sites lump the 68 in with the others. Then of course there's also the enigmatic early/late 68 scenario that seems to pop up at every turn. It's a mess.

Here's and Ebay listing that shows them being the same 68-71 for 440. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360526728561?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

This one says it's good for 68-72 but very specific on engine size and snorkel type applications. "Mopar Air Cleaner Lid Decal - Plymouth & Dodge Part # 2863349 (New) Applications:  68-71 340, 360, 383 and 400 w/o snorkle; 70-71 440 dual snorkle; 72 340 and 360 dual snorkle." http://www.ebay.com/itm/68-69-70-71-72-MOPAR-AIR-CLEANER-LID-DECAL-Dodge-Plymouth-2863349-/161045782257?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1968%7CModel%3ACharger&hash=item257f139ef1&vxp=mtr1968-72

In all my searches I've yet to see one that specifically says it's for a 68 Charger dual snorkel air cleaner. Am I missing something?

I don't think you are missing a thing. Let me visit my storage sometime these next few days and roust up a '68 Charger dual snorkel air cleaner...I believe it still has the original sticker on it. Maybe it will tell us something.

Thanks. The sticker on the one I bought was so shot it wasn't worth taking pics of. All it was basically was just a yellow background with a few faded red blobs.

The sticker was not as clear as I had thought. Anyway, I have attached three pics of the sticker in the hopes it will help.

Edit - it looks like both stickers you linked to are the same/correct. I do like the first one you linked to, though. Maybe a better picture?  ;)

That one is about 10% clearer than the one that was on mine. :icon_smile_big: Thanks. Not much to go on so I'll probably just have to trust the seller. But then like I said many of them don't even list a decal for a 68 383.

Here is a picture of the original decal on my unsilenced air cleaner.  "1968 R/T 440"

I would call Performance Car Graphics.  He has a pic of it on the website but I don't see a listing.

From his web site:
2863349 68: Filter: 2¾" x 12¾" Decal: 3" x 19/16"
1968 340, 383, 440 unsilenced, usually. Decal never has "Made in Canada" at bottom. Can be found originally on same applications 1969-71, but not often.

It states that the decal never have "Made in Canada" at the bottom, but mine sure does. I guess never say never...

That is why I mentioned to call him. David is very interested in his products and would like to know of variations.
Plus I am aware of some changes that have yet to be added to his site.
Hey, can't hurt.

I just talked to Dave and ordered everything decal I need for my Charger including the air cleaner decal. During our conversation I asked about this Made in Canada thing and he was pretty adamant in saying that the '68s never had that.

I guess mines proof to the one exception. I have no doubt that the air cleaner on my car is the original one. When I bought the car.  The only thing changed under the hood was the plugs, wires, oil filter and the upper radiator hose.
