I was a big Nascar fan up until about 10 years ago then i stopped watching and now it seems almost like the WWF to me. Id much rather watch any NHRA event but thats just my  :Twocents:

Mike DC

I've heard some big brains argue that although the slowdown from the plates are necessary, they hate the way the slowdown is being done.  Most of the bigwigs say they'd rather have the engines' displacement be the limiting factor if the cars are gonna be slowed down.  (Easier to police, hurts the engines' responsiveness much less, etc.)

---------------------------------------------------------------

NASCAR is poop.  WWF.

The only reason they still have ANY differences between the cars is probably so they can still exert some control over who wins.  You don't see many ugly drivers in small-time-sponsored cars winning.

how do nascar drivers pee while they race?  ???

It can reach temperatures of up to 140F in the car during the race.  They sweat a lot so there is no need to piss.  If you were racing for a $1,000,000.00 USD, would you piss yourself?

Well you wouldn't win if you had to pull over and take a leak every 150 miles.

Most popular sport in the country?? huh I think nascar spews out its propaganda faster than Tokeyo Rose. Okay  we have 100,000 fans at race track spending there hard earned cash; but how many tracks?, oh thats right, just one, times that by 36 races = 3,600,000 A good number but let see average football game 70,000 x oh 16 games a weekend =1,120,000 x 16 weekends =17,920,000  and that is before there REAL playoff system, not some overhyped 10 race to the chase, that punishes the drivers that have been consistant all season :flame: >:( Lets  talk about the fan attendance. Theres a reason they put races all around the country, next to cities mind you. To put people in the stands. Lets talk about North Wilksboro= gone, Rockingham = gone why? empty seats, Darlington = gone why?  not enough people in the seats. :-XToo cold in the spring they said. :'( Tell that to the fans up in Green Bay Wisconso during football season. I watch it once in awhile when they race on an exiting track, not too many of them left anymore. No im not talking about the Booryard 400,Chicago, Kansas, Vegas, Pheonix, Michigan, Homstead, California etc...  By the wayis it an unwritten rule in nascar the the announcers and the officials have to suck junior's ass the WHOLE race or can they get that done before the race. :icon_smile_dissapprove:
Bottom line,  that is all we have to watch as far as racing goes, so we have no choice. I for one would love it if another  real " STOCK" car racing league was started with shorter, exiting tracks and not all the big money hype. Oh well, we all can dream, can't we. ;)

RAWPWR

I thought Kyle Petty was going to that that big magnet out of his car this year. But lo and behold hear comes Carl Edwards right into him after Kyle is clear of the crash in front of him..I can't wait to see a Petty car finish in the top five.. ;D

What about the Hooters Pro Cup Series or the ARCA Series?  No big money hype there, hell there is barely any television coverage.  To follow the series you'll need a good RV.

I totally agree with the whole Jr. thing. :yesnod: I didn't like his pompous old man either. They are "policing" the bump drafting now? After how many years of watching #3 do that to anyone who got in front of him because he wasn't a good enough driver and didn't have a good enough car to get around them.A little late.

ok, ok, I was exagerating about the "most" popular thing.  I was responding to the comments implying that it's going away and I got carried away.  Yes, nothing can touch football.  But not many football teams draw in small markets.  depends on what you call small.  sure green bay draws, but that is very unique.  How about watkins glen?  a ton of people go to that race and that's not exactly the big city up there.

My perspective is from a guy who's a sports fan, but not a huge nascar fan.  As an outsider looking in, I just cannot deny how much more popular nascar has become since I starting paying attention in 2000.   As far as the announcers kissing jr.'s fanny.  That goes on in every sport, not just nascar.  Derek Jeter of the yankees (I am a huge fan of his, but his ass must hurt from all those lips on it) michael jordan when he played basketball, and the list goes on and on.

There is a reason that these guys get the free pass on things:  They are the poster boys for their respective sports, they say and do the right things on tv, and they have talent.

I know that a lot of you guys seem down on Nascar, but I watch it because it's a sport with CARS going fast.  When you are in the stands and 40 of them go by you at 180+, who cares about anything else?

Oh, and since we are all getting so pissed off:   :flame: :icon_smile_evil: :icon_smile_angry: :flame: :flame: :icon_smile_dead: :icon_smile_angry: :icon_smile_angry:
