Cam question- Hydraulic vs Mechanical

My question --  Can solid lifters be used where hydraulic lifters were intended.

My engine is a 472 ci Hemi.  It is a Keith Black block.  Mopar alum. heads. 10 to 1 cr.
When I ordered the cam I bought a cam lifter pkg.  Mopar Performance Purple Cam kit 4529315 (hydraulic cam lifter pkg)

When I was assembling the engine I found there was no provision for supplying oil to the lifters. So is there a reason that I should not use solid lifters with this cam?

Also this cam is 284/284 duration  -- 484/475 lift  106 deg. sep. Hydraulic flat tappet style
How would one expect this cam to behave?

Another question on this---Since I do not want to go the extent needed to modify the block I will be using solid lifters. And need to know what the cold set valve lash should be? ( I am using roller rockers)
Any input welcome

I don't think the cams are of the same compounds, so no cannot be switched. I have seen solid lifters swapped on a dyno to what powervdifference would be but weren't permenately done.

Cam card should have lash adj. On it for camshaft when you buy new solid lift cam.

Thanks Cooter   Also the lash card that came with the cam is lost and since I am using an aluminium block I want to make sure that the lash is correct for my application. (greater expansion than with cast iron).  I just ordered my kit from a vender and had no conversation about my application.

When I order a new cam I will try to get that info.

Excellent opertunity to call hughes for a cam that will make that hemi scream and peg the dyno needle. :2thumbs:y
