return fuel line

I got a regulator to go with my electric fuel pump. It says in the regulator instructins that with out a return fuel line it will not work right.

So how should I run my return line back to my stock tank?? Or should I say wwhat is the best way?

  simplest way , get a 440 or a hemi 3/8"  fuel  tank sender unit with a factory installed 1/4 inch  vapour return line connection

Be aware that the repro sending units have a linear sender whereas your stock gauge is non linear.  Ie the gauge will not work properly.  You can either transplant the resistor from your stock sender onto the new or you can drill a hole in the sending unit flange and weld a 1/4" pipe in there for your return line.  Or of course you use a linear aftermarket fuel gauge and Bob's your uncle.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I found the best way was to use a holley regulator that doesn't need a return line. Works like a champ.
