I have this combo on my car: Cooper Cobra tires 245/60 /15 in the front and 295 /50/15 in the rear.
The rear en is a Dana 60 with posi track.
According  the Cooper page dimensions  sheet ,the  overall diameter diference between these rear and front tires is 0.25 inches.
Could i use another  245/ 60 /15 like a spare wheel?
Could i have troubles with the rear end sure grip if  someday i need  to mount it in place of one of the 295 tires?

Thanks for the help.

I would generally carry a spare that is the same diameter as your rear tires. If you do mostly short-dsitance in-town driving, I would think a 1/4" differerence would not be a big deal for short haul. You could always over-inflate the spare (not beyond maximum) and lower the pressure in the other rear to equalize them if you had a flat.

Hi Mike,
i have been looking for on a tires catalog and i think that a 215/70 R15 will be  better.
It has a 26.71" O.D.Just  between the 26.8" O.D from the  295/50    and  the 26.55" from the 245/60.

Got to your local junk yard and find a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I believe some come with a 155 90 16 temp spare .

Not the prettiest in the world, but cheap, light and decent diameter.

Some also came with a 125 90 15, which is only 25"
