who makes best  solid state current limiter  as I   have had my guages all  go to the high end  momentarily  a few times   ,,,,guessing   factory current  limiter     failing      thanks :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

you can build yer own from a couple of parts from Radio Shack for under $10....I have had a home made one in my cars now since mid 90's....no issues

Or you can go to RTE Engineering website and buy theirs for around $55

I bought the RTE voltage limiter. Can't comment on it's performance though, as I shorted out my dash shortly after. Fits nice though.... ::)

Replace the stock limiter with a solid state unit. I use this in my '68 and it does fine.  ;)  http://rt-eng.com/rte/index.php/RTE_limiter
