Hi folks, doing the relay wiring for a 70, my relays have a 78a terminal in the middle of the relay,
(a heavy wire) can I eliminate this?? Or use in place of the #87

Or do I have to get different relays?

Also, what amp rating should I use for the fuses?

Thanks, Joe :scratchchin:

Never mind......I looked up a relay schematic on line and I don't need to use 87a in
the headlight wiring.

Thanks, Joe

The 5 pins Bosch Relay works also a double position switch, where  the 87s are both outputs. the A one is the rest position linked with the input ( prong 30 )... the 87 one is the output ( from 30 ) when the triggered from 85 or 86.

both 85 ot 86 can be used either as ground or trigger depending of application.

30 can be also negative if negative output is required

Thanks, Nacho,  so the 87a will close the doors when headlights are out and coil not energized.
The relay closes the circuit between circuit breaker and motor, right?

Then when lights are on and wire to coil is energized it closes to contact 87 to open doors.

I hope this is right, because that's how it's now wired!!

That's the schematic I used, just wanted to re-assure
myself as to what's happening inside the relay.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to this great resource. :2thumbs:

I apologize, just realized I had two different topics overlapping as
I wired the headlight relay fix then started on the door opener relay fix,
didn't mean to confuse anyone....Joe

I made the posted schematic. There is a thread around talking about the same, just that I wanted to explain everything in just one view.

aaand yes there are two similar topics around... one about headlights where the 87a keeps unused being just an on and off system and the other one about the hideaways where the relay works like a conmuter, being ON in both positions.
