I've got working on a 68 R/T Charger and 68 383 Charger, both cars where partially disassembled when we've got them.
Both cars had this Ring in the box of parts, what could this be and where does it go?

Thanks Guyz...

Somewhere arround 1 and 1 and a half inch.
Don't know  :shruggy: if it is a Charger part for sure but seems odd that in 2 different cars have this item is included with nuts and bolts.

Thanks

Fully made from metal, I know most of the parts and placement, but this one is puzzling me.
Maybe jack or spare mounting, searched the parts and shop manual, no luck

Put it all together and when you're done, you find that you are missing a spacer of some kind, Thats it!  :2thumbs:

In both cars is the item but not attached to something, just laying inside one, the other was in a can with screws and bolt, all charger by the way.
Guess it keeps bugging me in the near future if no one knows.
Thinking about spare tire item, or a spacer for shocks or something.

Thanks

I was gonna say spring bushing, but you said it's metal.

Take more pics of it next to something like a coin, ruler, pack of smokes or anything we can gauge against, show both sides from top and bottom. Examine it closely for witness marks that could show how/what it did what ever it does. (Scratches, denting, deforming.)  :scratchchin:

Did you take the cars apart, or got them as a parts cars. Maybe some line worker thew it in, thinking he would drive someone nuts years later. :smilielol:. Looks like a concave top to it, maybe it was used as a temporary fix at one time & not replaced with the right part.  :Twocents:.

Come on guys! Don't you know a muffler bearing when you see one?!?!
