The 4sp petal setup im refurbing on my 66 is missing the over center spring and certain places are saying you dont need one if you have for instance a centerforce clutch-and the things are 50 bucks a pop at Brewers! For a spring??? Anybody know about this and if so where I can get one a little cheaper if I even need one? thanks
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

No.

That's the short answer, but what type and brand of clutch are you using?  Who else will drive it?

Correct, you can't run the spring with a Centforce clutch or the pedal will stay at the floor.  I actually bought my 833 and clutch from Brewer's as well.  The pedal is not bad on your leg in my car.  I imagine the other type w/o the spring would be pretty stiff.  Although, you could buy the spring for less than the extra cost of the Centerforce.  It is suppose to grab better, but I have only had this one, so I can't say for sure.   :Twocents:

If your running a "3-finger" Style Clutch which most of the performance ones are STIFF and REQUIRE that over center spring.
However, if your running a diaphram style clutch, you won't need it. Simple as that.
