I can't start the engine when the fasten seat belt under the seat is plug

Hello!

For my charger 74, when the wiring is connected under the seat, i can't start the engine. The fasten seat belt light is red, i plug the seatbelt and the light turn off, but I can't start. All is normal when I disconect the wiring under the seat. Do you have explications?

weird... it should be opposite... when light is on, you shouldn't be able to crank the engine.

The best thing to do is deactivate the interlock system; find the two yellow wires at the control box (it will have a large red push button) cut them and splice the two harness wires together.

you meant the interlock reset button on engine bay. No need to cut and splice... a jumper wire will be enough


IF it comes with a damaged control box, that will be the solution, because replacement control boxes are REALLY hard to find. I spend around 3 or 4 years trying to find one, untill found a NOS one on ebay

with the yellow wires modification, you'll be bypassing the interlocking system and control box will work just like a warning signals control unit

sounds like a safety feature if someone tries to steal your car. could always re wire it and add in a switch in there too for the same purpose.

thats was my initial purpouse when I tried to make it work. But is really HARD find for a working conditions Interlock control
