I just separated the 727 transmission from the 440 engine.  I have the 727 sitting on blocks and a jack stand.
What is the Weight of a 727 transmission, with and without the converter?
I am trying to determine the arrangements needed to put it into the back of a pick-up.

Just Playing.  A good guess is 200-300.

I pick them up and lug them around all of time.....probably under 200 is my guess.

What do we win?

Maxwellwedge:  You win the opportunity to stop by and demonstrate your skills.

Um, I'm guessing less than that. The converter is heavy by itself - maybe 40-50 pounds? The transmission is about 130ish. Separate the two and it's a one person job to move them around (although NOT fun as the transmission is awkward to pick up).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Trans 130, converter 35, total 165.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thank You very much, but I will still need help.
Better safe than sorry!!

I have, uh, dropped a converter on myself once so maybe it just felt heavier to me... ;)
