I have a real strange car. I bought a 73 charger. I sent the WY title in and the state of South Dakota rejected it and threw it away. They said the numbers were wrong and that is all they said. I did a Vin number search on it and it comes up as a 73 Coronet? This was the same number that was on the title and the title listed it as a 73 charger SE. I know the title was from years back but what the heck?? I also know the Vin looks to be unchanged. The rivets look to be original. So now it appears I own a U code 73 charger with out a title. The fender tag is gone and I am not sure if the Vin is any other place on this year of car. Just wondering if anyone has ever herd of a car with the wrong Vin. Also is there any other place where the Vin might be stamped?

If you've never been scared (even a little) then you've never gone as fast as you could have!

I thought this thread was about Vin Diesel. I was ready to agree with you. His acting sucks.

I agree I am much better with pre 70 cars. I own one 72 and one 73. Never worked on either till now. And they are a different animal for sure.

OK I found a Chrysler Vin decoder that says (and matches the information given here) W shared by Charger and Coronet. P - Premium , 29 Charger 2 door hard top. U - 440 4bbl. HP engine. 3 - 1973. C - Michigan Plant and then the serial number for this car. And thanks for the help we will go from there.
