I am shocked when I take it out and nobody stops me, gives me thumbs up, waves or asks me a thousand questions when I gas up.  My Charger may not be as valuable as a wing car but even if it was one, I would still take it out any chance I get. I don't drive it FOR the attention, that is just a side effect.

If so, that plays to my point. Having a cool car that is on such a short leash does not sound like that much fun.

One can "have fun" a quarter mile at a time and around town, not every cool car needs to be capable of cross country trips.

I just never cared for cars that were single purpose. I want my cars to be capable of doing everything well.

The "absorbs water" argument surely matters where humidity is high. Out here, it is often in single digits and rarely gets over 30%.

Florida is mostly 80-100 percent for 10 months. Boating keeps the fuel reasonable and plentiful. (I don't race, I drive.)

That is hard for me to imagine.
On that same topic...I've lived almost all my life where it is hot and dry in the summer and somewhat cold and wet in the winter. I haven't travelled much so when I heard of how it rains year round in some states, it boggled my mind.

One downfall of owning a real Wingcar is that you worry that taking it for a drive and something might happen like   a wreck. Sometimes I wish I just had a driver quality Charger to cruse in. Sacrifices that I make. Jay.

Answering to the initial subject of the thread...

You tell me! When I was driving around the country (all along Venezuela) it was not weird to get a Whassapp or SMS saying I JUST SAW YOU AT HIGHWAY ( or at a mall, etc... ) while I was driving.

So go figure having a girfriend... I had to be loyal. I couldn't be with another girl LOL.

And my second car option to drive was an ORANGE Mercedes 1975. GO FIGURE, LOL.

I went to a car show for the weekend one time about 400 miles away. When I got back, a work buddy told me about a picture of a car that was sent to him by a friend of his. It was MY car. My buddy hadn't seen the Charger and didn't know what it looked like.

for the blue 68, I'm running 275/60/15 tires on 15x8 wheels.  Fronts are 235/60/15 on 15x7 wheels.  Super stock rear leaf springs with 440 torsion bars up front.

I am always amazed at the reactions that I get from enthusiasts. Smiles, waves, thumbs up.
When I'm out in this:



I'm the same dude but the attention is different. Younger guys and girls pay more attention, many take their phones out to take pictures. There are some older guys and even gray haired ladies that do look and smile but the shiny one gets more attention from younger people.

I looked like that a few years ago....Not as much nowadays. Age and gray hair is creeping in a bit.
