hemi-hampton

looks like the repaint was done awhile ago, if it really had 20k miles why the repaint long ago & why paint the engine compartment & door jambs?

maybe the california sun done a number on the paint  or dings / scratches  :shruggy:  as for painting jams under hood etc maybe they thought freshen it up or color match  :-\  :scratchchin:

nothing to do with this charger now

but  ive actually seen & done body / paint on cars that have had that kind of thing done , & nine times out of ten its a poor quality repaint & it makes the car look worse after a few years or if you know what your looking at  you just know if they left the dent or scratch it would still look 100% better than the crap paint work its now wearing , typical handy work for these type of body guys whole primered quarter  for a 4 inch dent/ repair & the primer is over 80 grit scratches miles from the repair also  flaky paint in door jams etc  so anoying when / if your the one who has got to sort it out  :flame:  :yesnod:  :icon_smile_blackeye:  :shruggy:

doctor4766

Something doesn't seem right.
The first pic is obviously a different car but the description says 1970 R/T and then they go on to say elsewhere that it was a 1971 car..
And then it's a numbers matching 383
Got me fucked  :shruggy:
Gotta love a '69

The car in the first picture had a black vinyl top and no sunroof. That one does look like an R/T.
II didn't look close enough to see any reference to a 1971 model.
I don't see any problem with the claim of a "numbers matching 383" since the fender tag reads L0G, the L is code for a 383 2 barrel.

DownZero

If someone could educate me: looks like it has a reverse light on the dash. I thought that was only for manual trans.

good spot ,  yes sure looks like one  :yesnod:  as far as i know / guess that can only be  a reverse warning  light :shruggy:   ,  50 odd year old cars who knows what ideas previous owners have had  :shruggy:

70 sublime

I looked up fasten seat belt light and found a picture of one on a 70 Challenger could the Charger also have started doing that too ??
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

DD

70 Chargers could be ordered with option C15 Deluxe Seat Belts which included a dash mounted "Fasten Seatbelts" light. The C15 option is not found on fender tags, only on broadcast sheets. The broadcast sheet for this car is coded with the C15 option.
