Title: Mopar Collectors Guide Problem ?
Post by: 72sunroof440 on January 22, 2006, 11:27:17 AM
Has anyone else had the trouble that I have in getting their full Mopar Collector's Guide subscription ?   Every year for about 3 years I have received a 1 year subscription to the Collectors Guide as a b'day gift.  My b'day is in Feb. and my first issue will arrive in March.   I usually get a renewal notice around Oct. and after the renewal notice I don't  receive any more issuses.   A one year subscription does mean 12 issues; right ?   I have only been receiving 9 to 10 issues per year.   I love the magazine, but not real happy with the service.  Just wanted to see if I was the only one having trouble.   Maybe my mailman like the magazine also ???

I'd contact them.  I had the problem once a few years ago but they sorted it out for me.

I have the same problem. I renew every year at the Mopar Nationals which is in August. Every year in May I receive my last issue, until I get to the Mopar nationals.

they are not exactly run like microsoft over there.  I stopped getting it because I would renew for a couple of years at a time and they would just stop sending it after a few months.  I may give them another shot.

I haven't had a problem with MCG but Mopar Action comes out at the local wal-mart 2-3 weeks before it finally materializes in my mailbox  :flame:

Mopar Muscle is usually at Wally-World a full week before it shows up at home

Haven't had any problems with mcg or mm, but I have seen at least one of them on the newstand before receiving mine and I always see Hotrod on the newstand before receiving my copy. You would think that the loyal subscribers would get their copies first.

Maybe your Post man is a Mopar fan, and he's reading it right now?  :D

I bought a subscription at Fall Fling back in October (so I could get the cool free t-shirt). I received my first issue sometime in late november/early december (the one with a cop on the cover and a story about a stolen charger that was recovered) but haven't received another issue yet.  ???

I guess I have been lucky because I have had a subscription for about five years and never had a problem.

I've been getting it for about five years and have never missed an issue. My little boy has a subscription too. It comes right on time.

So you pay for 2 subscriptions to the same magazine Telvis? Or did I not read that right?

Yep, I pay for two. My little boy lives with his Mom. He looks forward to getting his in the mail. He likes the T-shirt too.

Ah okay now it makes sense. I was thinking maybe your boy was like mine, and if I don't beat him to the stack of mail he claims the car magazines as his. For now though he doesn't have a subscription to any of them, then again he is only 2. But man oh man does he like cars.

Are you sure they publish 12 issues a year? I've subscribed for years and couldn't honestly tell you if they do or not. It's not uncommon for hobbiest magazines to only publish 9 or 10 issues a year. Check your actual magazine numbers and see if you have a number (or two) missing from the sequence. The current issue (March 2006) is number 216 and the number is printed on the bottom of the spine.

As far as MCG is concerned I have never had a problem with getting an issue until 2 months ago. I've subscribed for 4 years and only 2 issues?...not a big deal IMO, although I would like to get those 2 I missed.

ENVIRO MASOCHISM is worth the price alone...those guys are on the ball when it comes to exposing the flagrant lies and stupid B.S. that ELF, GreenPeace, the Sierra Club and all the rest of the tree hugging environmental wack-jobs out there are perpetrating.

Yes, there is an MCG problem and that is why I quit getting that colored toilet paper rag.  They should stick to selling advertisements and subscriptions instead of trying to discuss environmental issues, BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A F'ING CLUE WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THEY BROACH THE SUBJECT AND THEN PRINT THIER IGNORANT B.S. FOR THE MASSES TO CONSUME.

Hey bud, no need to yell...LOL.

I actually believe that they put some effort into research, I mean, they track down names, dates, cross reference incidents and timelines. Show how one person completely contradicts another when both are trying to push the same ballywhoo - and have even shown when some tree hugger actually contradicted himself or his own theories. Bottom line is that they say it like it is - and they CONSTANTLY point out the very true fact that there is really no hard proof for global warming propaganda or any real proof that old cars are responsible for any significant contribution to this so called "global warming"...heck, only 41% or so (last time I looked) of the population WHO TAKE POLLS (excluding MANY enlightened individuals) think it's a real concern, and most of them appear to be very impressionable young adults. Impressionable by professors, demonstrators and special interest groups - and we know which side of the aisle most of those people come from. In fact, didn't Robert Wolf point out that environmentalists are running on faith more than anything else?..I think he did. Isn't that something that doesn't gel with most liberals..the idea of faith? I'm not sure how it can be considered BS when MCG points out that many car burning ELF members are simply domestic terrorists, or that Greenpeace has caused the loss of MILLIONS in the fishing industry...driving up costs to consumers, or showing that hybrid cars of the past were dangerous, unreliable and didn't really save all that much energy in the end, or that MANY tree hugging lobbyists actually drive SUV's themselves....

Look, we can all disagree on certain toipics, but I truly do believe that MCG puts some thought and research into their ENVIRO MASOCHISM pieces, and saying they don't know have an f'ing clue is inaccurate and sounds very "knee jerk" to me. They obviously expose the exaggerations, contradictions, lies and BS that are pervasive in the idealistic realm of environmental activism/fanaticism. Plus, you've got to consider this, AT LEAST 50% of the population completely agrees with most of what MCG says (probably closer to 75% IMO) and hold the same opinions and views...are 150,000,000 PLUS people also clueless? I'd guess...probably not.
