Title: tach with vertex mag
Post by: DBR/T on June 01, 2011, 11:14:56 PM
Hi,  I've got a vertex oac mag in my car and I would like to get a tach in it finally. I thought about using a tach adapter and using any decent tach, but according to the directions on all the adapters available they wont work right with solid core wires, which I have.

OOPS!  hit the wrong button......  Any way, autometer does not make a magneto specific tach for this mag anymore.  Has anyone used a mechanical tach on anything?  The only mechanical tach I've got any experience with is on corvettes, and they are crap!!! They bounce all over the place, I didn't know if a jones/moroso mechanical tach was this way or if they were alot better.  Thanks for any input...Dale
