So it's a nice sunny day. A Trackhoe weighing 20 tons is riding along on a flatbed trailer, heading east on Interstate 70 near Hays, Kansas at approximately 65 mph...

"Hello, Geico??"
Yeah that's my hometown. That happened a couple years ago, some friends sent me the pix.
Wow. Close is not always good enough.
I know the owner of the backhoe. I also live not far from there and it was a huge pain for traffic as it took almost a year to fix. The good news though is that insurance did pay for most if not all of the damage to the bridge and backhoe
I'm from prolly 45 miles away and my step dad runs a construction business and the first thing I learned was to turn the arm around so it faces the back cuz its less likely to hook on stuff. oops
A couple hundered miles from me. That's the toughest Hyundai I ever seen.

EGAD! The one I saw in VA maybe 12 yrs ago was turned around so it just mashed into the concrete beams on the bottom of the bridge. That is a nasty hit. I wonder if the driver was wearing his seat belt or if he went through the windshield?
:misbehaving:
I wonder if the truck driver lost his CDL for that..... ::)
