My friend bought a 73 RR original 400 car now has a 383/727 has new headliner not installed, he has replaced steering gear, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake job, He paid $6,200 before he did the work. Tranny has a reverse valve body, he also replaced head light and dimmer switch. He said I can buy it for $6,500. He sold it on ebay and the buyer backed out. I think I can make a few bucks with this car. The problem is, if I get it I will want to drive it for a bit before I sell. I already have the 68 Charger, a 73 Charger Rallye with 72 air grabber set up U code 440 car and my 70 Challenger convertible thats getting real close to being done. I need another car like I need a hole in the head. What should I do?
Yo,
Do not be a flipper. If you are not going to buy the car to enjoy it then don't buy it. That is the problem with the Mopar market these days, people buy em' just to flip em'.

I think you answered your own question, before you even asked it! :yesnod:
what are you gonna get out of it if you flip it?? $500~$1,000? :shruggy: Is it worth the hassle?
BTW: what was the ebay # so we can see it?
never mind i found it. 320044054935
whats with the purple paint overspray on the radiator? those cold air intake fins on the hood are dummies, they must have forgetten to mask off the openings when they sprayed the hood...? :shruggy:

I think I'd pass on the Road Runner. Then I'd Off the 73 Charger and concentrate on perfecting the Challenger and the '68.
Having too many projects sitting around just plain sucks. I know I'm going to start thinning the herd around here pretty soon.
You guys have some valid points, I don't think there is anything wrong with flipping if you don't rape some one. I believe the car could brieng $7,500, my friend bought the car to flip prior to Monster mopar, He felt he would be able to move it fast there for $8500. He now has about 8k in it and has real cold feet. It is not just the question of getting another car, he considers it a favor, even though I told him if I buy it for $6500, I will keep it until it sells for $7500?
if you are only buying to resell, i think you should wait for a better candidate. 73-74 roadrunners aren't exactly the cup of tea for selling profit, especially on ebay. $6500 is in the higher range of a 73-74.. i have been offered 73-4 roadrunners many times when i have had a charger listed for sale. i just can't make myself trade. i keep thinking if i got stuck with it what would i do? BTW i had one 73 roadrunner about a year ago ,ran and drove great.. real roadrunner.. i thought i wanted one.. ended up selling it cheap because i never drove it.. i think it went for $3250 later on ebay when the next guy sold it. anyway just be cautious
trav
thanks Trav, my caution is more out of fear I won't want to sell it!
if you really like the car, buy it . cause if you can't sell it rite away you can enjoy it but to many projects will slow down the progress of your cars. Rene
thanks, I am gonna sleep on it.
I had a 73 RR and a 73 Charger at the same time a few years back. I got it cheap enough that it was a no brainer to buy it but ended up reselling it. It just didnt have the same feel. Maybe it would be different for you but to me I just didnt get anything out of driving it.
True dat! Chargers man ! :yesnod:
I am always thinking about another car...lol what else is there to do... :icon_smile_evil:
if you need another mopar, get a 70 model rr or satellite... i did and i just drove it 400 miles home from florida.. what an awesome car..
trav
ps yes the wheels are already off i ditched them in favor of a set of old school slots

I`m not a big fan of the 73-74 Satellite/Roadrunner body style. I would not pay much for one. I do like the 71-72 style.

thats my fav yr sat or rr. it's kinda like a naked superbird . Rene
If you think you are getting the car for a deal, AND you don't know if you will want to keep it or not - Then don't buy it. Speaking from experience, you will not want to get rid of it. ;)
Seriously if you have the cash and the space go ahead and buy it. As long as you have a place to keep it and don't need to sell it within 6 months you can drive it for a few years. Right now these cars are not that hot $$ wise, but will be in a few years.
