Post by: 74magnum on August 24, 2017, 11:01:37 PM
Figured I'd start a post to see what's out there for the 73/74's... Could be just showing off what ya got... or if anyone has some NOS they wanna get rid of... either way... post up that NOS stuff.

Is that the stuff the import guys install for more power? Noss??
I saw them talking about it in that first Fast and Furious movie. That was the best movie ever.

I am going to have a set of rear windows, regulators, and electric motors along with all switches. Will also have a full set of interior trim once I make patterns from them. Add to that a freshly powder coated dash and a dash pad that I just put a cap on.

I'm going to assume that was an attempt at humor.. but no. Not nitrous oxide.

I'm going to assume that you have NO sense of humor. I'm confident in that assessment.
For a guy that has less than 50 posts in 9 years, you need to understand something..... Jokes, man...JOKES are what make the tough times easier to get through!

Now that you bring up the subject, they made a ton of 73-74 chargers but I don't see a lot of nos parts around.
What's that about?
Did everybody throw them in the dumpster?

I wonder if it has to deal with 73/4 being one of the highest production years?

They did sell a LOT of those cars but remember, Chrysler was not doing so well just a few years later. I have heard stories of parts being sold for scrap for pennies on the dollar. Tooling, dies, stamping equipment too.

I can understand tooling and equipment, but not parts.  Law requires that they make so many parts extra to last a certain time period of the life of the cars produced.

On the contrary... everyone is always telling to stop joking and start taking things more seriously. I have a sense of humor. Plus you have to consider i wasnt too sure if your statement was serious or joking... ive talked to people that dont even know the term NOS. As far as my post count, just started working on the car. So that's the reason for lack of posts.

That's what I'm saying. All those cars and little parts out there... unless someone is hoarding and not sharing.

Sorry man....I am a confessed smart ass to the Nth degree.  I thought I was being totally obvious with the comment about the Fast and Furious movie being the BEST ever. Only a real idiot or a smart ass would write or say that.
Good luck in your search.   :2thumbs:

Ill speculate that, historically, 73-74 Chargers haven't been seen as "desirable" or worthwhile to restore compared to the early cars, so most people didn't bother hanging onto the parts.

Which is a shame. I'd love to own a burn notice clone myself.

I have a NOS tail light lense on sale on PARTS FOR SALE.

NOS temp gauge to Rallye Cluster with Clock/Tach

NOS single stage choke control ( /6 and SB ) which I got even my car is BB

NOS rear license light and bracket assembly.

These last 3 are storaged by the moments as spare parts, but...

I have had some quite nice NOS stuff in hands but usually I really install them on my car... windshield washer bottle, AC control unit, sidemarkers ( these were actually made locally licensed ), NOS driver side tail light full assembly ( which already got broken misteriouslly and had to fix ) and passenger side lense, all 4 bumper guard cushions, glove box switch/socket assembly, one of the windshield washer nozzles mounted on wiper arm and cowl hose conector ( these two exclusive for 74 )... can't recall what else at this moment.

Once found NOS front valence and drive side door ( on my car now ). Also couple of NOS rear valences with and without exhaust cut outs, but they were traded LOOOOOOONG time ago.

All these parts mentioned were found at local Mopar parts dealers. Of course I have got also NOS parts from USA, when it was posible to me.
