Title: Stripping roof on 73
Post by: randy73 on March 14, 2016, 03:42:04 PM
My car had a vinyl roof and underneath a silver looking stuff underneath (Think it is the glue), anybody know something that can strip it off easily?

Tried paint stripper, but it barely takes off anything and I am just eating up belts on my belt sander and not getting anywhere.

The 3M paint stripper wheel chucked in a drill does a great job.

This is what I used.  Mount it on an angle grinder, removes just about anything and leaves a finish that is really good for holding paint.  Cost anywhere from $6.50 to $9.00 and it took two of them to do my roof in 2 or 3 hours.

I used something similar as the above to strip my whole car.
