Title: 73 steering box
Post by: justcruisin on November 02, 2013, 07:30:30 AM
Can anyone tell me the difference between a 71 and a 73 power steer box, I know the sector shaft is larger on the 73 but is that it or will I have other issues fitting the later box to my 71?

I just had a conversation with Dick Ross at Firm Feel about this on Thursday.  I ordered a Stage II box for my '72, and they are planning to send me a '73-up box since that's all they had lying around.  He said the external casting is the same.  Only difference is the sector shaft, which necessitates a new pitman arm.

OK thanks, seems the 73 and up is more available.
