Title: Hideaway head light part
Post by: randy73 on May 03, 2013, 12:39:32 PM
The 'U' shaped that the motor drive rod connects too, does anybody make a replacement for it?

it connects the drive rod from the motor to the headlight door.

Sorry for the bad description, let me try again.

You know the rod that goes through the motor and rests in the 'U' shaped door hinge. My rod is ok, but the 'U' shaped door hinge is about gone on one side.

The rod is held in the hinge by a 'V' shaped locking device, hope this is a better description.

That is not what I need, these clips hold the rod to the piece I need.

YES, that is it. Should have said 'C' shaped, but mine is so rusted, it looked 'U' shaped.

If you're talking about those c clips, you can get those at the local hardware store.  I was just at Sutherlands in the hardware department, and they had those.  Take one with you so you get the right size.  Might cost you a quarter.

No, I am talking about the big piece on the left, that has the 'C' shaped barrel.

I believe the OP is referring to 71/72 Hideaway setup which uses a motor, rod, clips and cranks.
