How hard would it be for me to remove my vinyle top on my 73 SE?  I originally was thinking about dying it black but I seen a picture of a blue SE with the vinyl removed and I kinda like it.

It's not too hard.  Just remove all the trim that would hold the top down, and start peeling (back to front is easiest).
It should come off without concern, if it's the orig top.  33 year old glue doesn't usually give much of a fight ;)

just an opinion... SE without vinyl doesn't look good.

two reason to say that:

1- I like vinyl tops :D

2- Hard to hide the window plug without vinyl... Bondo allways will start to broke along the time.

another option: Why don't try to match the vinyl top with body color ? just like a 3X

also some of the body under the top isn't finsihed that well. Mine had seam sealer caulked in on one car. Wavy lead work on another and you might need to grind off the rivets if you gonna go without the top and trim.
