Bill to Provide for Single License Plate Introduced in New York

Legislation (A.B. 3824) has been introduced in New York to require the issuance of only a single license plate for motor vehicles.  The bill, favored by state hobbyists, requires that the single registration plate be attached on the front of tractors and on the rear of all other vehicles.  The bill has been referred to the Assembly Transportation Committee for consideration.

We Urge You to Contact Members of the Transportation Committee (Contact Info Below) Immediately to Request Support for A.B. 3824

A.B. 3824 would save money, conserve resources and bring New York in line with other states that have moved to a single plate requirement.
A.B. 3824 would protect the aesthetic contours of collector cars and relieve vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on some fabricated and original bumpers.
DON'T DELAY!  Please contact members of the Assembly Transportation Committee immediately by phone or e-mail to request their support for A.B. 3824.

Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org.  Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow car enthusiasts.  Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.

they tried that out here in Washington years ago...to save money...then they decided to go back to the front plate because they were loosing too much money.

We still get the "one" plate for collector cars out here, but still have to run two plates for everyday vehicles again

Same with Oregon. And we also get to do just a one-time registration for $80 I think it was. You get a little historic vehicle sticker instead of the expiration year sticker.

they give you 2 here but only require 1 :icon_smile_question: :icon_smile_question: :icon_smile_question:
