Hello,
I am new to the Dodge Forum simply because I test drove the vehicle in the subject line.  I am now hooked on Dodge Chargers ;) - what a great looking, performing, and fun car.  Here is my dilemma.  I would love to buy the Police charger but am uncertain about two things I noticed wrong with the car.
       1.  the tire pressure "idiot" light is on... The dealer has no idea why.  I can only assume he adjusted the pressure on all the tires - but no luck in getting the light out.
       2.  I hear a ticking noise in the car as I drive it.  It does not seem to be variable - but constant sound.  It does not sound like an engine tap - but I am far from an expert.
The car is from North Carolina state patrol.  The oil looked clean and it looks like it was maintained.  I hear that the troopers are assigned one car only and drive just that car for its tenure.  I am not certain if that is true - but it did not appear beat up.

The price is right - 10K - fitting my budget.  The police package is really nice in that it has a really stiff ride with that in control feeling of the road.  The braking is outstanding.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I could check or do.  If the car were actually good, I would hate to let this one get away.

        Thank you!

exhaust leak possibly? hemis tick thats just what they do. my truck has been ticking as long as ive had it and its perfectly fine. i think its got 143k on her now but she mostly keeps my garage floor from flying away for the last couple years.

this forum is for old chargers so you prolly wont get a ton of responses. there alot of great people here but most of them arent "new" charger lovers haha.m not saying its a

ask yourself this if you had a 375hp car tghat was your work car wouldnt you beat on it? especially if it was perfectly acceptable to beat on it at any point during your work day?  i know i would be flooring it everytime!

im not saying its a bad car id like a cop car too but i would always assume it was beat everyday of its life.

I'd google "LX Forums".  If you post your question on one of those sites you'll probably get a few more responses.  Like he said above, this site is mostly classic Chargers.

I don't think I've heard a single 5.7L that doesn't have the "5.7 Tick" It's a common thing with them. There isn't anything wrong with it when it does that....it's just something 5.7s in the LXs do. My 2005 Magnum R/T does the same thing and it's got no wear near the miles this Charger you're speaking of has.

A Charger with that many miles around here would be a $8,000 car.... :Twocents:
