Guys, below is a pic of the base of my windscreen pillar. Both are the same. Please help me identify what the 'tab' is and where it should belong...

I know I've got lots of jobs on the new (to me) car, but what is this part please?

CS

These are the clips you need to complete your windscreen molding.............

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

K9COP

Gotcha. That makes sense.  :2thumbs: Can anyone add a picture of how that area should look please?

Thanks, CS

Re the clips. Thank you, but I suspect what I've 'arrowed' in the picture is the ends of those clips. Great. Now I have to go hunting windscreen moldings...  :'(

Got the pics. Thanks so much guys.

BTW, here she is slowly changing under my stewardship.....:

Yes that's correct. And they slide into each end of the lower windscreen molding to hold it in place.

Car looks great.  :2thumbs:

Thank you. Like I said, it's a great base to start from, but there's lots of jobs to do 'fettling' the car and getting the little 'niggles' sorted out.

I'm hoping to get the paint colour sanded and buffed soon, and then I'll just keep working my way through the little jobs to get her ready for summer!

Thanks everyone for the help. Anyone have a lower windscreen moulding they'd like to sell?  :shruggy:

Car looks  :drool5:  What colors did you use on the two tone?  I hope you post a few more pix when your done :popcrn:

K9COP

Thanks for the compliments. I don't plan on doing anything too radical, just updating some bits, lower the rear a touch, cut and buff the paint, and some tidying things up and making sure stuff is correct. I didn't paint the car, it's as it arrived to me, and I don't know the code for the black, but the orange is (supposed to be) factory burnt orange. Having said that, in the pic I posted the black looks like it has a metallic or pearl in it....  :icon_smile_question:

It has a 440 in it with a 4 speed and pistol shifter, hooker headers etc, so the guy spent some money before me......  :2thumbs:

Are you going to do something about the missing side markers?
Lowing the back is a good idea.   :2thumbs:

K9COP

Side markers? Yes, I've purchased some very low profile integrated LED turn signals and running lights. I'm going to try those before hacking into any sheet metal. They should look nice and subtle with a modern touch.....

Another couple pics of car as is:

Nice custom look!  :2thumbs: Post in the "parts wanted" section for the trim.

K9COP

Thanks. I've just been through the box of parts the guy sent with the car (a very good guy by the way...) and if the lower windscreen trim is in two pieces, I think I have it! Just not sure how they're all held in. Are they just a compression fit around the rubber seal, or is there more to it? Also, are there lower corner pieces for the trim too? I know I'm being lazy asking, I'll check on here in the mean time....  ::)

It's all held in with clips under the windscreen molding. You just press them down.
No there arn't any lower corner pieces, they just overlap the vertical windscreen molding..

Hey Fred, I see you may be online. Are these the clips to hold the windshield molding in? They are described as 'windshield clips and correct reduced head screws'. DO they hold the molding or the glass itself please?

Thanks so much,

CS

I'm not Fred, but, yes, those are the clips that hold the molding on.  They screw into the window channel before you install the glass.  I hope they are installed in yours :-\

They only hold the molding.

Thanks guys. NO they're not in there right now. The lower edge of the windscreen gasket thingy is a bit crappy anyways, and there's a couple of flaws in the glass (tony bubbles?), so when the weather is better, I may just swap out the glass and gasket, and see to it that the clips go in at the same time. Patience for now. I think I'll just unscrew the 'end tabs' right now as they look a bit weird. Thanks again for the instant info!

Snowing again here right now, so it'll have to wait a while....  ::)

CS

Yes, our weather's pretty perfect at the moment, no complaints from me.Took my baby out for a cruise today and will again on Friday. So far my little neck of the woods has missed out on all the storms, I pretty much live in Utopia. (except when the weather's bad   )

Regarding these clips..........be aware that the bottom clips are longer than the side and top clips so when you buy a new set, make sure you get the right ones.
