Did they make a sure grip with 276's? When  i spin the right passenger side tire the drivers tire spins the other way,car is on jack stands.69 charger

Not sure if it was offered in any year (possibly other models)  but the way your describing the action of yours it looks like an open carrier (non- Sure Grip)

Yes, I have seen light duty "741" units with 2.76 Sure Grips.

its a 489   the numbers read 2831489.
If it was a sure grip wouldnt both tires spin  same way on jack stands? has a 276 tag but no sure grip tag.

yes, and if it spins the other way like yours does, its an open diff (non-suregrip)

Sure-Grip was available in the 8 3/4" with all ratios in all years from '58-'74.

69 up don't use a sure grip tag on 8 3/4 it was marked with a colored paint daub mark

that's just what a single wheeler does, if was sure grip or track lock both spin the same direction but sure grip under torque
