The lift shifted to the right & I shifted the Charger farther left, which leaves 7'-11" in between the post and the car, which is juuuust enough room. I could gain another foot if I relocate the blast cabinet.

The underside of the car is about 4' off of the floor. I have a chair on wheels that I glide around on when working underneath. It's not the most convenient way to work on the underside, but I live with it.

Get a couple of qualifed framers to take a look, and see if it's possible. It's not a huge job, however,you want it done right.

Trusses are there for a reason. Pre-made trusses are very strong in their current form. Do not cut them up. To do what you want you will need to rebuild the roof with a custom made roof structure OR reinforcing /bracing your trusses. Either way there will be some $$$$ involved (probably the same amount too)

It can be done I have done it before. The building inspector will want to see a drawing with an engineers stamp on it. Best thing to do is call a local lumberyard (NOT HD or Lowe's). tell them what you want to do and see if they could recommend a structural engineer. The two yards I deal with have an in house guy

I'm an architect, I've drawn this stuff before.  Yes, you'll need an engineer's stamp on something like this.  Not a big deal really. 

Best case is a straight gable and you can cut open the end and feed in a beam under the top most point of the trusses (or two beams depending on the webbing)  Then  sister in some 2x solid lumber or LSL rafters over the new beams.  The low side is the difficult part, either a ledger if the heel of the truss is just a 2x4 or 2x6.  If you have something else like raised heel (energy trusses) then there is generally more room to work. 

In any case you should figure on your garage being vacated completely for at least a few weeks.

I have the same issue with my lift and low premade trusses. When you figure it out let me know. 10 foot ceilings and I'm also on a rolling chair. Beats a jack anyday.

I modified my trusses in my garage to intstall my 2 post lift. It's been like that for seven years know. It's 12ft tall so the brace that connects the two posts together is inches from the roof. Only problem I've had is I have to watch the big cars. My wife's van can only go 5ft because of the A frame design of the roof but if works. I can put my 68 charger on the lift and put my 69 under it.
