Hey guys,
update on the new challenger, I am negotiating on a new ram 1500 (hemi of course) and the sales rep is working Toronto Int'l Auto Show this week. He has said that the response to the new challenger has been "nothing short of amazing" and apparently they are being told it will be available for 07. He also said that they already have PREPAID orders on about 500 or so (dont know if thats canadian or US)

anyway, just some food for thought, dont know if its true or not!!

Do you do that at the local dealer and is there a minimum deposit you have to pay? Before the magazine articles came out my local dealer didn't even know about the Challenger so giving them a deposit would be kinda scary.

I will buy one if they build it. I'm not about to give a dealer any money until the car is available. I haven't met a dealer that I trust that much. I wonder what the price range will be on it?

I know a guy who's brother works a DCX headquarters & they still have no word that it will be built. If you call DCX they will tell you no deposit are being taken at this time. Sounds like the dealer is pulling a fast one.

Gezz, let a year or two go by until they work the bugs out of it. Trust but verify.

i figure there will be lots of people buyin them new but not keeping them, ill wait a year an get one broken in for way under the price of new..im not into spendin 40g on a new car only to have it loose 5g drivin off the lot

I agree with you chris. Just because it says Challeger on the outside doesn't guarentee it won't run like a 3 legged dog.I'll buy a used one cheaper and then use it and abuse it as an everyday beater.

If I can swing it, I'm going to buy two.  A 5.7 Auto to drive every day, and a 6.1 6-Speed that I'll trailer home and never drive.  Then in 40 years or so, I'll sell it for a mint!

Apparently he says that it was an off the record meeting of the TO dealers at the TO int'l autoshow.

DCX isn't admitting anything yet but I just got a four page pull out section of the Toronto Sun and the last page has a big pic (1/2 pg.) of the new challenger and the tag line says "the muscle of the future just got more exciting with the Dodge Challenger concept" then goes on to list the options.......... seems unlikely to me that they would be put so much money into local Ads if they weren't planning on making the durn thing??
