For those who Rocked when they were young.

This should bring up a few tears from the soul.

That was beautifully done. Long live Led Zeppelin. And all bands from that wonderful era.  Or at the very least, let the music live on.

Always loved Led Zep. Have turned both my boys onto their music.
Was a big Heart fan until Roger Fisher left the band and they went kinda soft. When Heart was starting out as a cover band they played a lot of Led Zep. I have several bootleg albums from their early years and they covered several Led Zep songs on them.

I never liked Zepplin at all. I will turn the radio off or down when their music comes on. I think Robert Plant as a solo artist was tons better. I like some of his solo stuff.

:eek2: I rocked as much as anyone back in the day and the only band I can't stand more than Zeppelin is Heart. But I'd still rather listen to both of those bands playing simultaneously for an hour than hear Axl Rose sing three notes.

Sorry for the wet blanket. Carry on.

Not a huge fan of Zepplin, but this over played song I guess had to be the tribute song. I mean, who doesn't hear this song Fifty-seven times a day on the Classic rock station at work, but Heart did a wonderful job. I guess it's all in when you grew up and got into music as to how much of a fan of Zepplin you will be. I grew up during the 70's, but was more into GnR than Robert Plant. Again, well done.

Seems to be the popular opinion, but certainly not law. If not for the likes of Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Big Joe turner, Little richard, there would be no Zeppelin.

Chryco Psycho

Awesome tribute
My view is a little different , looking back Zep doesn't seem all that innovative & a lot of their tunes are not good , but reverse that & looking forward virtually no one had even done what Zep did , they were the first to try many new things & set new stds , I have a lot of respect for Zep & other innovative bands over the years . I have to agree Stairway is overplayed & I prefer many of the deeper tracks Zep did . Too Bad Bonham died so young it would have been cool to see what more they could have accomplished  .... or maybe it was just best he died young & did not fade away making total garbage as a lot of bands do ???

Tilar

I liked Zeppelin and a lot of people still call them the best Rock and Roll band of all time, but the Eagles were more my style.

True!

They also borrowed heavily from the blues artists from the 30's and 40's. Many others did also, including CCR and Ram Jam's 'Black Betty' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiCEVl_9-MM
