This is where we are heading.... the youngest generation will give up their car before their cell phone or computer.
For me, I'd give up in order:

1. Cell phone
2. TV
3. Computer
4. Car

Hell, I'd give up my house before my last car.

Consider the tv gone.  They don't put anything on it worth watching any way.  Computer can go. Cell phone can go away next.  I hate the darn thing and never wanted it anyway, but, it is a moneymaker.  I'll keep the car to go look for work or to see the people I normally talk to on the phone, which is much better anyway. :2thumbs:

If I stick a cell phone, tv and computer in the car...can I keep the car?

And this makes sense to me.  Several of my friends with kids turning 16 are not interested in driving and not getting their drivers license.  My niece is one of them.  She is 19 and only now in drivers education.

I can understand (and even participate) when the subject starts out that way. It'll get locked anyway, so hack away I say.

But don't you guys have enough fucking sense to keep from injecting it into every thread ?

You do have a point, but are you saying that mentioning the p*******t is grounds for locking a thread and F-bombs are acceptable?  :shruggy:

Brass

Why not?  For the mods to decide - but I'd rather see F-bombs all day than the political noise that keeps sneaking into these threads.

RallyeMike

Yes I do have a point.

However, that was rude of me. so let me rephrase:

When someone starts a thread, they have some amount of investment in it. When the same broken record compulsive gentlement drag their politics into it in an ill-attempt at humor, eventually getting said thread locked....... well, that's just not cool for anyone who had any interest in the topic, or the person who started the thread.

If you think that interjecting that the P****** as the number one thing "to go" your list, and do not believe that such a statement is not political, well then I may as well just give up on appealing to any sense of logic I thought you might have.

If you don't ahcve anything to contribute, at least don't derail things for the rest of us. Pretty simple.

Lock her up again Mods  :rotz:

Well I am no fan of the POTUS, but I need my car to get to work. It is the last to go. First would be the cell phone, don't really care to talk to people anyway, then the TV, and finally next to last is the PC. I got to be able to converse with you fine gentlemen, and look for cars &  parts on CL.

Oh no, a tough one! :scared: :scared: :scared:

No longer have a TV.  Don't regularly carry a cell phone, but my kids do.  Use a bike as my daily driver, but need a car to get around.  Use the computer regularly.....

Probably would keep in this order.
The TV,
The Cell,
The daily driver,
The computer,
but not the charger.

My son is interested in a car (he is 14) and wants to put it together.

I got over a 100 movies in my movie collection. I haven't watched any for over a year now. I even got about 30 that I bought, and never opened, so, I could care less about a tv. I have to have my phone for work.

I actually resent having to pay for TV.  I say it's only worth half as much as what we get charged.  If that.

The newer generation, I've read in a magazine once, see cars as liabilities.  And you know what, I can't do with out one, but sometimes I think they are right.

Fred

We have 16 free to air channels here. They're as good as the ones you pay for. In other words, they're all crap but at least I'm not paying for it.

For me, and to turn this back into the fun thread it started as, my choices:

1. cell phone --- I survived the first 45 years of my life without, I'd survive the remaining 75.  Yes, I plan to live to 120.  That way, you will all depart
this great planet before me and i can have ALL the muscle cars to myself since no one will know who to work on them! :woohoo:

2. TV --- The playboy channel isn't free anymore, I can get movies at Redbox and find enough on the computer.

3. Computer --- I'll miss talking to all you wonderful ladies and gentlemen, occassional ebay.  Again, I'd survive without it, but will miss the porn!

4. car --- I could just put a wing on my 97 saturn I suppose.  I mean the front does kind of slope down like a nosecone so with a wing and spoiler none of these new kids would know what it is anyway.  Especially 75 years from now!   :smilielol: :smilielol:

Usually I don't give up anything untill brokes.

even less the car. When I buy a car don't think on an utilitary piece, but on a piece of art that I like to use

of course thats just theorical, LOL. On Real life I just have 1 parking place and two cars... how do I do ? magic.

Almost all of the shows I watch on TV can be found on the computer anyway, so the TV would be a no-brainer.   My wife however... she probably couldn't live without it.

The rest it's tough to say.   Computers, phones, and a car are all basic things that are required to live today's life of suburban convenience for the most part, and I need all three to do my job so it's a bit of a jacked up question.

If the question were 'If you were exiled to a desert island forever, which one would you keep?' then it'd be the computer (with internet of course) hands down.
