Got the 70 charger out for a drive today and it had a real weak battery after the drive and would not start.  Started fine before the drive.  My initial thought is a bad alternator.  I had a spare good one in my shop and bolted it on.  My question is since it is a 70 It is an isolated field alternator and it has 2 field terminals on the back.  One of the connecting wires is blue, the other is green.  Do the colored wires correspond to a specific field terminal????  Can there be issues if they do correspond and I hook them up wrong?   Thanks

no...either wire can go to either terminal...it does not matter

Thanks, I have a second question.  Should I replace my voltage regulator at the same time if my old alternator test bad?

no need to change regulator if alternator tests bad
