At the Louisville car show last week I bought an A833 4 speed transmission. Condition unknown but feels good on the shifts:

Info off plate: Serial # stamp: 9A298731 of which I think the last 6 numbers are the VIN

Stamp: PP8332883 which corresponds to a June, 1969 build date

#'s after the stamp: 0378

It is a 23 spline, long tailshaft transmission off a B or E body per the code.

Although I plan on rebuilding it and using it in my Challenger rebuild if it is your VIN# I will make it available for what I paid for it. You need to prove the VIN to me though.

Well sir, it's not mine but you are a good man for such an offer.

Lynch Road, 1969 model year so it came from a b-body, but not a Charger if that helps at all?

So sounds like a Belvedere/Satellite/Road Runner or a Coronet/SuperBee

Thanks Ketchikan!

Yes. Whatever it came out of likely had a scheduled production date of 617. :Twocents:
