I decided to ( spray ) paint my door panel trim  chrome  paint instead of hand painting it .  I'm talking about the very thin piping  on a charger SE door panel upper . I spent a couple of hours taping the panel areas. After applied the paint , I decided I could not wait to remove the tape and see how it looks . it's a good thing I did . removing the tape revealed that the chrome paint bled hole over the door panel. in a panic , I grabbed anything I had to remove it before it's dried and cured . I got lucky again , I grabbed a bottle of Goo gone . I had no idea what affect it would have on the old vinyl . after another hour of cleaning I was able to remove nearly all of the paint. The goo gone had no adverse effect on the vinyl or any other surface on the panel . I was able to salvage the panel that I had purchased on eBay . The panel was and unlikely find ,since it's a funky green color ,driver side door ,in great shape . the odds of finding that door panel in the same color was s.lim to none . I did realize the error I made it was going to heavy with the spray paint. I should have done it in a lighter coats  . I'm going to go through the tedious task of hand painting the thin little piping.
I don't know the effect of  paint thinner  on the various materials of the door panel . I can tell you that the Goo Gone had none .
