Hello All,
Trying to find a good bargain on a tablet. Brand isn't a big issue. I'm trying to find one for my friend's wife. She's been at the hospital daily as there daughter recovers from very severe head trama and is SLOWLY, after 7 weeks, coming out of a coma. Bless her heart, a beautiful 22 year young lady hit head on by an individual with no freakin' insurance and suspended license !!!  :flame:

Mom entertains herself and updates the family on a small smart phone. I'd like to find something that's bigger so it is more comfortable for her on a daily basis.......

Thanks in advance...

I've bought a ton of refurb stuff, laptops included, from Buy.com

Have a look there?

Refurbs get individual attention unlike assembly line stuff....I buy them often.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Try "Newegg.com" also but read reviews, some had bad complaints.

If a deal is what you're after, stay away from the iPad.  You get much more bang for your buck with a Windows or an Android tablet.

Also void the temptation to go the other direction and buy super cheap ones (i.e. the ones from Walgreen's behind the counter).   The specs are usually horrible and it skips and jitters around before dying an early death.   Quality is usually crap and there is no support.   I'm pretty sure they're made by 4th graders in sweatshops in Burma.

That said, I'd look for used/refurb.   I've had three Samsung Galaxy products at this point (two Note phones and a tablet) and they're the best bang for the buck in my opinion.   Solid build quality, not horrible on the price.

If you go for Android, look for something where the operating system version is at least 4. 0 or later.   Anything earlier and you'll be left in the dust for updates.

If you go Windows, avoid any tablets with Windows 7.  Nothing wrong with Win7 itself, but it wasn't designed for tablets at all and SUCKS to use.   Get Win8 or better.
