Update: New AMD valve covers just came in !!!

Well, got my new AMD valve covers, '69 HP........ They look great, I'll compare them to originals later and test fit them on a set of heads....

Hard to believe you waited this long before putting them on.  That's usually the 2nd thing I do after drooling over new stuff  They do look good though.  I've been looking at valve covers a little bit.  We're limited on choices compared to the Chebs and the Ferds.  It'd be nice if we had a few more choices.

Hello All !!!  

Just returned from the Valentine's Cruise in the Hill Country of Texas and it was great. The family REALLY needed a get away and see some old friends and go on a cruise I haven't been on in a LONG time... Ahhhhhhhhhh,

OK, I knew you fellas would be anxious and all.. So, I grabbed a 906 head from under the bench and a Felpro gasket for a test fit. Well, I'm pleased to say, at this point, the covers seem to be rather nice and within spec. Here are some pictures, albeit, it really doesn't tell the whole story..... But, I like what I have thus far and the true test will be when I paint them and install them on the Daytona... I'm not sure what the issue from the original stamping/release was, the 6 holes for the attach points seem to line up rather well.

1. Here are some pictures from tonight.. I used one of my 906 heads with rocker assembly installed. It felt like it settled properly, but won't know about the shields until I install on the Daytona and fire it up.

2. Driver's side installed with proper studs on the corners and appropriate OEM fasteners for the other 4. Seemed to fit rather nice.

3. other side of the driver's side.

4. The one thing I noticed is the clearance tolerance of the fastener to cover. You can see the washer of the fastener is up against the cover.

5. Passenger side. Again, seemed to fit rather nice with gasket installed.

6. Opposite side of the passenger side cover.

I have Air Force Guard Duty this weekend, so I won't have time to install them on the Daytona unless I can fit in on Friday.......

Na... just scratching the paint. If I was to freashen up the engine paint like it was new, then all that would be together then paint. So, it wouldn't really be an issue ( in my eyes, someone else may think so )..
