This has been a running personal story at Moparts.

His name is Robert, from Montana. In January he lost his job, has health problems, it might be a work injury involved. Now he has the winter blues, no insurance, no work, and a bad neck.

I suppose this last message is meant to be a suicidal goodbye. So I for one can't make jokes.

I hope he can find support and bounce back.

Do it, I'm googling trying to find out where he is.  This is not good.

If you have the address just call 911.

Someone on Moparts posted this...that he supposedly posted...

I have no idea if he wrote it or how recent it is...

Found this, think he's in Missoula, and he has a brother that just moved there:

I just got back from the drs office and he wants me to get a neurology consult and a discogram at C5. No big deal except Dr. Dilliad is is Billings 350 miles away, so the discogram will be an adventure to say the less. Neurology consults take about an hour but should not be painful.

So after this my neurosurgeon will know exactly where my pain orginates. Surgery is likely after this bout of exams.

AND THIS:

Going to Billings tomorrow for a discogram, the doctor will inject a liquid dye to see if he can replicate my pain. The dye will also show any problems with the disc. I will have to leave Missoula by 4 AM to get to Billings by 12 (noon) for my appointment at 1 PM, then a long drive home after the procedure. My younger brother just moved to Missoula so I will have a driver for the trip. I hope the weather is cooperative and we have sunshine the whole drive.

I think I will need a double. Robert

The sheriff deputies just talked to Robert. He is fine. He couldn't sleep last nite and decided to sell his cars and parts. And quit the sites because he can not keep the cars. I am talking to him now and letting him know we care and were very worried.

Thank you everyone for all your support. This scared the crap out of me . Like you , Cooter.  from experience .  A lot of people on here do not know that I lost someone very dear to me when I was 21 from suicide. And my dad shot himself 19 years ago. So something like this I take serious. And with all the crappy stuff I have been thru since I have joined the family of DC.com. You guys and gals have been here for me. And all of you have helped me so much mentally . And you have kept me from giving up. So , if anyone needs to talk , please reach out to your family here.  Hugs, Jackie

TruckDriver

I was worried too. Glad he is doing okay. But he shouldn't give up his joys of old cars cause of it.  :Twocents:

Now, I wanna confess somethings about me no one here knows. But I'm hopefully going to make a good point by the end of this. I just want anyone to know, if your life gets bad, or is bad... this is my story. And I am getting by. So, you can do it too. I am sorry if this seems like a thead highjack.

I struggle with life more less cause I never had a lot of money. I live pay check, to pay check, and have most of my life. I own very little anymore. Maybe with my truck, maybe a net worth of 10,000. And that's probably way high. I never owned my own home. The chance is I never might, little alone a Charger again. Then I lost the first 2 Charger's and my 1990 Ramcharger all cause of my ex-wife, and our very bad marriage. I've become very reclusive between all the women I have met and how I got treated. Back in the 1990's, when I was still married, I was afraid to get a divorce for a few reasons, and got very depressed. I turned to eating, and ate my way to 600 pounds by 1998. In 1998, being heavy like that, it adds more depression. I took 12 sleeping pills to end it. Ironically, my ex, came in a while after I took them, figured out what I did, and called the ambulance. Since then, well, it doesn't matter. I'm still here, and it's all cause of my kids. They keep me alive. Going though all of that, also gave me chronic depression which I live with. But it's not a suicidal feeling I have. Just I have withdrawn basically from society. I never leave the house unless I have a reason too. I also became very emotional, not in a bad way, but more like I cry easy. This thread made me cry cause even with my life messed up like it is, I still care about the people here. You guys are my family even though I only ever met 1 person off here. But I been with a lot of you here for 10 years now. I guess my point is, Nothing is worth killing yourself over. NOTHING. I haven't known real joy and happiness in more years then I can remember. But this place always makes me smile. So, I hope he stays here, cause the people here are truly outstanding. Just cause you have to sell, doesn't mean you have to end friendships too. Sorry about my confession, but I hope anyone else struggling keeps it in mind, that nothing ever is that bed to end it all. There are always people out here in a hella lot worse shape. If I can make, everyone can make it.

By the way, I'm down to 386 pounds now, but my lower back hurts most of the time now cause I was so heavy.

Hang in there TruckDriver.  I'm about 350/360 and I have scoliosis and bad discs and every day is a challenge.   Sometimes I get down in the shitter because at 37 I see people running marathons and many days I have to go down the stairs one at a time.     Doctors don't understand it's extra hard to exercise when you can't move like others.   I do what I can though and believe it or not, I started yoga 3 weeks ago and its helped a TON.   For those who think that's funny and that yoga's not hard - try it and get back to me :)

I for one can admit, you all here are family to me, honestly words can not say what this forum has helped me through mentally. when I was first a member it was about the cars and my 70'. NOW some times I could careless to read about the cars I love hearing of how you guys are doing for the day and to see what crazy things you all have to say. If I ever get going back on the car it will take my time away from here...

THANKS TROY! For everything you have done and keep doing to bring all our friendships closer.

amazing how you all came together in a matter of hours across the country to help one another. It just goes to show we all care one way or another.
Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

Jackie, you always lead with your heart.

For all who are in a bad place for any reason, a lot of us here have also been to a bad place or ten in our lives. If you want to talk to someone, reach out to anyone you feel comfortable with, even if you have never met them in person. We are all in this together for good or bad.

A hand up is not a 'hand-out', there is no shame in asking someone to listen when you need someone to talk to. Sometimes we just need a little extra help getting up from the dirty sidewalk of life. I have gotten up from it, so have others, it can be done alone but sometimes a good listener can make a huge difference.
