Will a 440 manual bell housing fit my 426 street hemi?

Rolling_Thunder

Yep but you'll need a 143 or 130 tooth flywheel with the 8 bolt crank. I believe the factory hemi bellhousing used a 172 tooth flywheel

I believe you may also need a different z-bar and shift fork for whatever bell housing you choose. Basically, if you can get a complete 440/383 setup (except the flywheel) it will work. If your setup includes an 11" bell housing (cast iron pre-1970) then you need the 143 tooth flywheel and if you get the smaller 10.5" bell (usually aluminum) then you need a 130 tooth flywheel. You need to use a "normal" starter too as the Hemi's direct drive unit only works with the 172 tooth flywheel.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
