Does anyone have any info / dealership emblem / anything from Lou Brock Dodge?  Here's why.  Full thanks goes to Gene Lewis for this.  My car was shipped to 18th street in St Louis. (that was all I knew from back then)  Gene found out that that had been changed a bit and the "18th street" was a parking lot/garage where my car was taken and used in a Sales Show possibly for the dealers to check out the new cars.  Then, after the show, my car was probably taken to Lou Brock Dodge.  So if I can find some kind of "trinket" like one of those chrome dealership emblems attached to the back of the car I'd like to put it on.  The sales manager was a Dick Wikoff.  Does anyone know or have pictures of this sales show??

Gene, hopefully I got the readers digest version correct??  I apologize if I did not.

Tom

Lou is probably hanging out with the club in Jupitor FL. He still makes spring training appearances as a guest instructor.

StL is my home town, but I'd never heard of his dealership across the river. I have been pretty young when it closed.

You have GOT to get a Brock-a-brella to wear when you take your car to shows!

St.Louis area old farts like me may remember those... :shruggy: :smilielol:

For everyone else...

It was an umbrella that you wore on your head like a hat.

This Brock guy was the pitch man for them....

You still see the brock-a-brella around the ballpark from time to time.  I remember being at a Lou Brock night in recent years and seeing a lot of them.

Tom, no apologies necessary - you nailed it.  Hope you can get some Lou Brock Dodge vintage swag, or even a dealer name tag/emblem for your car.

I did not realize Lou's dealership had such a short lifespan.  He was and still is such a popular figure in St. Louis that his name association should have produced at least some business.  Then again, since he wasn't actually "running" the dealership, it's always possible that it's management ran it into the ground shortly after takeoff.

Growing up, I remember seeing Brockabrella's all the time but never had one myself.

Good Afternoon Tom, I posted want ad for Lou Brock emblem in local St Louis Craigslist for you. I will forward any replies I receive. I go to local recycle yards weekly and have been for about 25 years and never seen that emblem. It is very cool though and would Great on your car. Mike

Thanks, I did try calling the Cardinals, left a message with a woman, but never heard anything back.   It seems in general like I've been hitting a wall with the very beginning of this car.  Gene gets credit for figuring out it went to Lou Brock , still wish I could find Murry Crowe -- I just want to talk to the person that can tell me what happened to the motor and I would love some pictures.  Anthony Zachery has been great to talk with, wish i could have spoken with his dad.

Aero426

Baseball collectors/shows in the STL area will be the place to search for that tag.    Probably tough to find as a one year only dealership, but all you need is one.

The one I got the image from sold .Figured you could use its image to create a magnetic decal.Or maybe someone could recreate it for you having something to go off.I emailed from NascarXX29 email that Im looking and asking around. This is the only one I stirred up so far
