guy at work tells me he knows here theres a charger under a tarp. from his description it led me to believe it was a 69 r/t. so all excited i follow him there. i see the big ass rubbers sticking from the front. its clearly a 73-74. i though ok well i like these too. this thing was rotted on every body panel. i couldnt see the roof at all but cuse of how it was tarped. it had white vinyl though. it was a automatic but dunno if it was a big block or not.

i dont think it was worth restoring since these cars dont bring big money anyway. i was sad after i left hahaha. i thought i was gonna score a sweet project.

I can't even remember how many times back in the mid/late 80's I heard someone talking bout a "426 Hemi" they found in someone's barn and was for sale.

I ask about it, they tell me this "little ole' lady" owns it and it's for sale. I go look at it and 9 times out of ten, it turns oput to be a 331-354-392 early "baby" Hemi. Same with cars. People don't know, and refuse to take the time to research cars before telling someone about them. I have had people walk right up to my '69 GL for goodness sake, and remark about how they wish they could find a 1973 Charger like mine to build a GL with.??

I have been on many goose chases on the wrong year Chargers myself over the years. Sometime it turns out it is not even a Charger, but you'll never know if you don't go look. One of these days I will make one of those big scores everyone is always talking about.....

One of my coworkers still believes the GL was a Challenger, and that's with my 69 sitting outside our office.  You can't fix stupid.

The wife of a friend of mine told me she saw a car exactly like mine in a near by town.
It turned out to be a '67 Caprice. It was big, it was blue, and had a white vinyl top. Yep, exactly the same.

It was one of the very first times I took the Charger out.  I was filling it up and someone asked what engine it had so I say 440.  The guy nods his head and says, yeah I had a 440 hemi as well.

Those came standard in the '68 Challenger SS that I used to have.  Awesome car.  It had the tri-carb setup on the Hemi.  Also had a top-loader 4spd and a positrac rearend.
