You're right  about her not being able to handle it Ponch (and she could have really made the big time, she was well on her way).
Never the less, it's always sad to  to see a young life so tragically wasted. Especially when life could be so good for her.

That's why I never heard of her. I didnt start listening to country a lot until a few years ago when I got tired of american rock radio.

Hmmmm, I wonder if the same is said for every facet of music? With the likes of Bon Scott, Kirk Cobain, and every other Music Star that "Lucked into being famous, and couldn't handle it"?

I dunno, I'm just trying to emulate the reaction this would get if it was a rapper or some punk band's bass player.

Unfortunately, those types of musical talents are more known to deal in that type of stuff.  It's not too common in the country genre.  Keith Urban is the last known druggie, and that was back 5/6 years ago.

Who are they?   I'm a product of the 80's.  Actually, they weren't considered country when they started except for Cash.  Willie, Waylon, Merle, and Hank were considered outlaw until the the 80's.  After that, they were considered country.

:o  Hey Ponch, I live in a trailer park and I've got the biggest trailer.   I've got 2 1/2 full bedrooms, 1 2/4 baths, a carport that can easily fit my 86 tempo, 4 garbage cans, a fridge, couch, somes old tires and a clothes line.  My friends say they love crashing at our place because all our doors shut and don't got no holes in them.   :yesnod:   We are the pride and envy of our park.  We always put beer cans in the trash the next day and our kids have clothes on most the time.   We are social meth users (only when we party) and only do it when the kids are asleep.   Hell, just the other day I told my babies momma (Lisa) that it's been over a year since CPS has been here or the Police so we must be doing gooder.   In short Ponch, don't think that there aint no trailer park trash living the American dream because we is.    :yesnod:    Oh, just so you know, next week we're gettin some of that screen stuff and closing in part of the carport for an extra room.    :yesnod:   Then we will have 3 1/2 full bedrooms.....  How many full bedrooms do you have fancy man?    I didn't think so.    :fu: :loser: :nono:

I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

Maybe not, but her two kids don't deserve to be without a Mother (short of murder and heinous crimes), most people can find the "right" path... But, this is the case of the ultimate "We'll never know"..

Drug abuse has never been "uncommon" in country music. It just has never been part of the image.
