I then started fitting my amd panels and just used clamps and tech screws to hold it all together. Put my doors on to make sure I had the correct gaps.

I need to modify the Dutchman panel by adding a 1/4 inch to the left side, this has been a common problem from many threads I've been following.

Wow, Hey you have been busy.
I just love seeing how these cars are torn completely apart, fixed, then put back together!
Keep on posting those pictures and the the more you show us the better!
Thank you

I have worked on a few pieces lately, the trunk drip rails have been patched and repaired. The vin number is very clear. Both ends needed piecing and a section in the middle. The right side just needed the end repaired.

The Dutchman panel needed to be extended on the left side by 1/4 inch.

Hey Ger, It really amazes me how my car is so similar to yours. Many of the areas you are repairing, I will have to address also!
So keep up the good work and keep those pictures coming! :2thumbs:

Did you ever call AMD and complain about the dutchman panel being to short?
You never know they may give you a discount. (You have pics you can send them)

gers1968rt

No I didn't think to call AMD about it, but sounds like a good idea. I'll try my vendor first and go from there.

Had a snow day this afternoon so I finally cut my quarters to reshape the lower window corners. I also had to reshape the Dutchman panel. I am pleased with the results.

Here is the other side, it needed to be moved more to close the gap, now I just need to finish welding the patch and filling in the space. I will remove the quarter to finish.

Nice job Ger! That just makes me sick thinking I will have to do that to my car! Just don't seem right!
But I'm glad I have something to reference to! Thanks Ger!

Thanks. I knew that others had to fix this area, but I couldn't find pics to know how it was done. I had a few different ideas on how to cut it and am glad I chose this way, but it could have worked another way, as well.

fy469rtse

Sorry ger if only I had known that this was common to those cnrs , I would have posted photos, I cut the Dutchman panel to fit those but that looks just as good a fix, and it only seems fair that I copied your idea for base jig to platform car for critical measements, but fantastic work ,
Keep at it , you have proven your fearless with the level of work you have done and what's in front of you  :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Another problem was with the valence corners, had to cut and add a piece to make it work. I have seen this on other threads as well.
