If it was a 69 Hemi - Yes.....440 - No

If you want to convert one into the Hemi piece - Scott at Harms sells the proper bracket. I think the others were for Slant 6.

Yes - The e-bay one (and others) were dealer add-ons per some bulletin and not used from the factory on 440's. They did come , from the factory, on the 69 Hemi's........don't know about 68's or earlier.

They came on '68's from my research while I was doing my '68 j-code Charger R/T. No need for getting one for your 440 Allen... It had the Prestolite dual-point..........

Emissions=better spark...  I see the Ignitor II you're putting in, you'll like it. I have it in the Daytona, Ignitor I in my 500.....

2843555 - 383 & 440 factory unit for 1968 thru ?

2863739 - 426 Hemi factory unit for 1968 thru 1970 (?)

The ones sold on eBay (3549895) as Hemi parts only have the green plastic cover in common with the real Hemi part... AND the   sellers know it!  :flame:

Here's one on my '68.

69_500

I have not ever seen one on a 440 powered car. Do not see them on too many Hemi cars unless they are nicely restored.

The Feb 2013 issue of MCG has an excellent article by Frank Badalson, specifically on Hemi Emission Details.    Per Frank, and I called and spoke to him after, all 68 and 69 Hemi's came with the green valve.   Automatic and 4-speed.

His article also shows a great Chrysler print detailing how to hook up the valve and the length of the hoses.

I put one on my Hemi as part of detailing the engine.   I got the bracket from Frank.   It was an easy job to swap brackets on a NOS valve that I got from e-bay.    A little harder was getting the right vacuum port for your particular set up (power brakes on a Charger).

A Charger 500 with a Hemi would have a three nipple port, with one plugged.   In his article Frank details the proper vacuum port as well.

Personally, I have never seen a green valve on a 69 with a 440.   I don't know a lot about Daytona's, but I do on A12 cars and they never had them.

Yes - Great article. A pic Frank used in that article is actually my 69 Hemi GTX.....which I put a link to in an earlier post.
