Cutting and modifying the top radiator support

I was wondering if anyone has cut and modified the top crossover radiator support so that it looks good bolted back up for future removal swaps?  I know this has been done to facilitate easier motor and tranny swaps on several occasions with others but never seen one done that wasn't attempted with a re-weld.  Was there any functional negative impacts from doing so other than from a poor reattachment and visual appearance?  Not even on the fence about doing it yet but interested in finding out some more info.  I tried searching for results on doing this but mostly found about cutting the hole size for bigger radiators or someone attempting vin swaps so if someone has a link to somewhere pros, cons or pictures please post.

I cant imagine cutting the rad support to pull a motor, unless you're trying to leave the hood on. You said you've seen this before?
I have seen it boxed out for strength though. Was a pro touring car on here somewheres...

Way back some folks that were pulling and swapping out big blocks and tr
anny would cut that top bar so it would easier instead of having that weight dangling  so high and help without angling down so much.  I have a good lift and an adjuster but the last two times I thought about what it would like with it out of the way
